Current Projects

Sutter Hospital

In April 2025 the City received a preliminary application from Sutter Health for an amendment to the Chiron Planned Unit Development to construct a new 900,000 square foot hospital; a new 310,000 square foot building which will either be a medical office building or a residential building; and to convert two existing buildings to medical office uses. The site address is 5300 Chiron Way.

The City has hired Urban Planning Partners (UPP) to conduct analysis required by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for the project. No work has begun as the application is incomplete.

The City anticipates receiving a complete application in November/December 2025, after which staff will begin the process of entitlement and permitting. For further information please contact project planner Miroo Desai at mdesai@emeryville.org.
