City Council
The City Manager works closely with the council by advising them on situations or conditions that require Council attention and preparing the recommended budget for council approval.
City As Successor Agency to the Emeryville Redevelopment Agency
The City Manager also acts as the Executive Director of the City As Successor Agency to the Emeryville Redevelopment Agency (Successor Agency). Under ABx26, the State law that abolished all redevelopment agencies, the Successor Agency is charged with winding down the operations of the former Redevelopment Agency.
This process of winding down the redevelopment agency is subject to review by a county-level Oversight Board.
