Earth Day Shoreline Cleanup

Flyer promoting the 2026 shoreline cleanup with graphics of seagulls and trash

The annual Shoreline Cleanup is a great way to celebrate Earth Day. Every year, the community comes together to cleanup trash along the Emeryville shoreline. Cleanup tools (trash grabbers, trash buckets, and gloves) are always provided, and everyone of all ages is welcome!

This year, volunteers interested in arriving via bikeshare may claim a $5 Bay Wheels credit. This equates to a FREE unlock and ~15 min FREE ride. Email zerowaste@emeryville.org if interested.

Volunteers can look forward to enjoying Boichik bagels, Peet's coffee, Semifreddi's pastries, and fresh fruit at the cleanup. Don't forget your own reusable water bottle/coffee mug!

Interested volunteers will also have the chance to participate in the "Trashure Hunt." A treasure chest is hidden somewhere along the Emeryville shoreline. Whoever finds the chest may claim a prize! There are multiple prizes, including gift cards to local businesses, free annual BayWheels bikeshare memberships, eco-friendly accessories, and a secret gift from Pixar! There are many opportunities to win - come on out and try your luck!
