Q: Today’s economy is challenging. What is the City doing to help our community?
A: The City is committed to supporting our entire community and keeping Emeryville safe without burdening homeowners and small businesses. As part of these efforts, we are currently working with business stakeholders and small business owners to review Emeryville’s outdated, 42-year-old business license ordinance – to ensure that large businesses pay their fair share.
Q: What about 911 emergency response services?
A: The City is working to maintain rapid 911 emergency services, to ensure help is ready when our residents need it most – including in case of an accident, disaster, or medical emergency.
Q: What are my neighbors saying?
A: In a recently conducted community survey, residents identified the following community priorities for Emeryville:
- Keeping parks and playgrounds safe and clean for kids
- Repairing potholes and maintaining streets
- Maintaining 911 emergency response
- Improving crime prevention, reducing property and retail crime, and auto burglaries
- Maintaining senior and youth services
