The railroad crossing gates at 67th Street east of Shellmound Street and traffic signals at the 65th Street/Shellmound Street and 67th Street/Shellmound Street intersections are currently malfunctioning due to construction activity occurring in Berkeley.
Trains have been instructed to travel through the affected railroad crossings at slower-than-normal speeds. People driving and cycling through the area should use extra caution and expect delays.
Union Pacific Railroad is aware of the issue and is currently working to make repairs.
Please use caution when traveling through the area. Consider Powell Street and Ashby Avenue as alternatives.
