Streamline Rooftop Solar Permitting

What does SB379 do for Residential Solar Permitting in California

SB379 requires all cities with populations of 50,000 or fewer to implement by September 30, 2024 an online, automated permitting platform that verifies code compliance and issues permits in real time for residential solar energy systems that are no larger than 38.4 kilowatts. Eligible projects for streamlined online permits include rooftop solar and battery storage at single family, detached ADUs and duplex residential units.

This bill was passed by the California Legislature to help jurisdictions to meet the State's clean energy needs and spur decarbonization in residential housing through electrification.
