Building Permit Submittals
Building and Fire Permit applications should be submitted to the Building Permit Technician at the Building Division. Use the attached PDF of the Building Permit Application and send it by email to cbarrett@emeryville.org For any questions about the permit process you may also call 510-596-4310. Submittals may also be made in person during the morning drop-in hours from 9am-noon, Monday to Thursday. The Permit Counter is open by appointment only at all other times.
Submittal documents
We don't currently have an online portal for receiving submittals or to look up the status or an application or permit. Submittals should be sent by email as PDF attachments or with a fileshare link with the referenced Permit Number to cbarrett@emeryville.org You should receive an email confirmation within 1-2 business days that your application has been received.
Fees
Once a completed permit application has been received you will receive an Invoice for the Plan Review or Permit Fees and instructions will be provided on how to submit payment. We accept cash, check and debit and credit card payments. A 3.0% non-refundable Service Fee will be added to all credit/debit card transactions. Finance cannot accept payments over the phone.
