Work on the Sustainable Streetscapes project has resumed following holiday weather delays. With improved conditions in January, Bay Cities Paving and Grading is continuing work on remaining construction items along the Hollis Street corridor and throughout the City. Recent work includes the installation of five new concrete bus pads, curb repairs and painting, and the continued installation of new benches around the City.
During the week of January 26, crews will complete concrete improvements at the Hollis/53rd Street intersection, adjust utility covers along Hollis Street, and install permanent crosswalk markings. Work will also begin on punch-list corrections and pavement repairs; these corrections may continue into early February.
During the week of February 2, new asphalt speed humps are scheduled for installation at the Greenway crossings of 65th, 66th, and 67th Streets, as well as several other locations in the City, to help slow traffic and improve safety. Final striping on Hollis Street will continue to be installed as long as weather conditions allow.
Temporary detours and lane or road closures may occur during this work. Please use caution when traveling through construction zones and follow posted signage and directions from flaggers. We appreciate your continued patience and cooperation as these improvements are completed.
