From November 17, 2025 to November 26, 2025, the City's Contractor Bay Cities Paving and Grading will perform a bulk of the paving operations along Hollis Street, which will include fresh asphalt paving for the entire length of Hollis and conform paving onto the side streets. A majority of this work will be performed during the night for safety and to minimize the impacts to daytime traffic operations, per the noise waiver approved by City Council at the November 4, 2025 meeting. The approved night work hours are from 6pm to 7am. Please expect dust, noise, detours, traffic delays, and parking restrictions.
The first four nights of the work will be focused on re-grading the intersections to meet the newly installed curb extension improvements and accommodate accessible pedestrian crossings. The following nights work will consist of laying the asphalt overlay over the entire roadway. Work to occur during the daytime will not require the extensive roadway closures or detours of the night time paving. The above schedule is contingent on cooperative weather conditions as paving cannot occur during very wet weather.
