The Sustainable Streetscapes 2024 project is entering the home stretch, constructing improvements to vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle facilities throughout Emeryville. As part of these improvements, more than 50 benches are being replaced citywide by benches with backs, about 40 of these benches are along the walking paths at Marina Park. These benches will provide Emeryville residents and visitors respites during a walk, spots to socialize with friends, or simply places to have lunch and enjoy a view. The new benches are constructed from recycled plastic and aluminum materials, and are designed to meet current ADA accessibility guidelines. Work has already begun to install these benches and will continue into January 2026, weather permitting. Look for more new benches to be installed at the Marina and throughout the City soon!
