EMERYVILLE’S VISION
Sustainability and innovation, with respect for the past. The Emeryville community strives to live within means that do not compromise the ability of future generations in Emeryville to enjoy a livable, healthy, and vibrant city. Sustainability is encouraged through redevelopment of contaminated land as a healthy and cost-effective way of improving the local environment, ensuring access to essential services, use of “green” construction techniques, and promoting lifestyles with low ecological impacts upon energy consumption, climate, and the natural environment. Creating a green, sustainable city requires hard work, cooperation and a commitment from local government as well as every individual, business and institution in the city.
