Overview The Emeryville Senior Center functions as a community focal point for older adults in Emeryville and the surrounding community. It is the mission of the Center to provide a comprehensive array of activities and services that promote healthy aging and contribute to the physical, emotional, and financial well-being of older persons in our community including: congregate meals, meals-on-wheels, information and referral, case management, subsidized transportation, in-home care, health services, financial counseling, physical fitness, education, recreation, escorted trips and outings, social activities, and a monthly newsletter.
The building underwent a $1,000,000 renovation in 1996, making it fully handicapped-accessible, seismically safe, and beautifully restored. VFW Post 1010, American Legion Post 695, and the Military Order of the Cooties, along with their Ladies' Auxiliaries, maintain offices and hold meetings in the building. A Wide Range of Services Many services for seniors are free. Some activities require a modest fee.
