NOTICE OF ONE (1) UNSCHEDULED VACANCY ON THE EMERYVILLE PLANNING
COMMISSION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that one (1) unscheduled vacancy has occurred
on the Emeryville Planning Commission. Commissioner Sherman Koo will be moving
out of town and has therefore resigned. Applicants are encouraged to serve the
remainder of his term, which will expire on June 30, 2004. The City is accepting
applications from interested individuals to serve the remainder of his term,
starting 02/17/04 through 06/30/04. Applications are due by Monday, February
9, 2004. An appointment will be made at the February 17, 2004 Regular
Emeryville City Council meeting.
The Emeryville Planning Commission consists of seven (7) members who are appointed
by the Emeryville City Council and serve three (3) year terms. Membership is
comprised of the following: at least four (4) members shall be residents of
the City with one (1) year residency prior to appointment; non-residents must
be business owners, employees or officers of businesses located in the City
for at least one (1) year prior to appointment. The Council will appoint members
that represent various geographic areas of the City. The Committee meets monthly
at City Hall, usually on the fourth Thursday, in the evening at 6:30 p.m. For
the months of November and December, a single meeting will be held the 2nd Thursday
of December due to the holidays.
The Emeryville City Council encourages interested residents and business persons/owners
in Emeryville to apply for appointment to the Planning Commission. All persons
interested should contact the City Clerk to obtain a Planning Commission Application
form, at 1333 Park Avenue, Emeryville, CA 94608, telephone (510) 450-7800.
Completed applications should be mailed or delivered to the City Clerk,
at the above address.
