	Did You Know? In the 1980s, Powell Street Plaza, the city's first shopping center, was built along Powell Street between the railroad and freeway. A new residential neighborhood, Emery Bay Village, was built on 53rd Street, on the former site of the Emeryville Motorcycle Speedway.
