Commercial/ Residential Redevelopment Project
The South Bayfront Project is an ambitious commercial/residential redevelopment project
in the heart of Emeryville. The project site contained a large industrial plant built in 1924. In 1999. during the course of demolition, workers rediscovered remnants of the Emeryville Shellmound, a prehistoric Ohlone Indian site, previously thought destroyed by the building of the industrial plant in 1924.
