The City Attorney is retained by the City Council and Redevelopment Agency to act as the legal advisor and administrator of the legal affairs of the City and Agency.
The City Attorney renders legal advice to the Council, Redevelopment Agency, City Manager, Department Heads, and all City officials on matters of law pertaining to official activities. The City Attorney represents the City and Agency in litigation and reviews all legal documents, including ordinances, resolutions, leases, contracts, and deeds, and approves each as to form.
